On you fragile wings of dazzling beauty
Fly away in the glistening sun
to each nectar filled flower
care free and full of a graceful curiousity
for a new found freedom in life Beautiful butterfly, I want to share your colours
I want to sense life with the same wonder as you
through your open delicate eyes
become your hues of purple and blue
that show your inner beauty
shining through as you flutter around
spreading happiness through life
Beautiful butterfly, please be my teacher and my guide
show me the bigger picture, so I can be as wise
teach me lessons that I could continue after your short little life
